Voters in Midlothian and East Lothian should use the upcoming European election to send a message to Theresa May that “Scotland has had enough of being ignored”, SNP MSP Colin Beattie has said.
The SNP launched their European campaign yesterday (Thursday) as postal ballots arrived with 750,000 voters across Scotland. May 9 is also Europe Day, which celebrates peace and unity in Europe. SNP MSP, Colin Beattie said: “This is by far the most important European election in Scotland’s history. “Midlothian voted to Remain in the EU by 62.1% and East Lothian voted to Remain in the EU by 64.6%– just like every part of Scotland. But we face being dragged out of the EU anyway. “On May the 23rd by voting SNP, people in Midlothian and East Lothian can send a clear and unequivocal message to Theresa May. “Scotland has had enough of being ignored. “Scotland’s future lies in Europe. A vote for the SNP is a vote to make clear Scotland says No to Brexit.”
