LOCAL MSP PRAISES ‘CONSTRUCTIVE DISCUSSIONS’
Colin Beattie, MSP for Midlothian North and Musselburgh, met on Friday 11th March with representatives from Greggs Bakery, Midlothian Council and Scottish Development International to discuss the proposed closure of the bakery in Loanhead. The meeting, which took place at the Scottish Parliament, saw Mr Beattie glean further details on Greggs’ plans and discuss what support will be offered to the employees. Mr Beattie said: ‘These were very constructive discussions, and I’m grateful to all the representatives for meeting with me. ‘There are clearly good communications in place. My impression is that every effort is being made to put in place combined solutions against potential job losses. ‘I am hoping to meet with staff representatives in the near future, and I will continue to engage with all stakeholders throughout the process over the coming months.’
